When the building manager asked me to lecture on the benefits of exercise at his staff meeting, I agreed but insisted on giving everyone a Nia class in order to practice all the points in my lecture. "I started Nia a few years ago with Carmen after I retired from teaching. Like many people I had always been too busy to say this is for me. What I love about Nia is there are no barriers for age, gender or two left feet, I have made good friends since joining and Carmen must be one of the most encouraging people on the planet.     "I discovered Nia over a year ago and I am totally hooked!  At first I was worried that I wouldn’t cope, with being in my mid-50’s and never having danced before.  I needn’t have worried as I am able to go at my own pace and when I fumble, I have a good laugh and feel no judgment. 

The benefits I have received from going to Nia are great.  After a class I feel totally relaxed, happy and in tune with myself.  I have shed a few kilos and have toned some.  My bone density has improved ...
